Dear President Bush:
We, the undersigned, are writing to ask, once again, that you please support Federal Legislation that will combat bullying and provide ALL our children with a safe school environment. Across this country, each day, children are abused, assaulted and verbally harassed in their schools. They are also enduring cyberbullying and cell phone abuses that go beyond the school walls.
Currently, twenty-six states have passed Anti-Bullying Laws; however, we would like to see Federal Laws passed in this country that will make it mandatory for all school districts and educational entities to have strong policies and procedures that will make bullying prevention part of every schools plan.
We believe that no child should be left behind, as The No Child Left Behind Act states. Unfortunately, bullied child ARE left behind, as their right to a safe and secure environment is infringed. In a world where terrorist create fear and confusion, it would be wonderful if our children would not have to face this type of fear in their own schools.
