Super Smash Brothers Brawl is one of the most highly anticipated games currently in development. It is the third installment in the series, and unlike its predecessors, will include characters from third-party software which has been developed for a Nintendo platform in the past. Currently announced characters are Snake of the Metal Gear series by Konami, which dates back to the NES, and Sonic the Hedgehog by Sega which made several appearances on GBA, GameCube, DS, and now Wii. It has been announced that third-party character space is limited. However, there is no rule saying that each developer is allowed only one character.
Castlevania by Konami is regarded by many fans as a favorite video game franchise. Its relationship with Nintendo of America dates back to the NES, with multiple titles on every console except for Virtual Boy, GameCube, and Wii. While the inclusion of Snake is a joy to Metal Gear fans, the omittance of a member of the Belmont family is painful in the hearts of Castlevania fans. Do developers realize how intimate the relationship between the fans of Castlevania and the Belmont family is? Although it may sound silly, it is true. We realize that the inclusion of Snake is the result of developer Hideo Kojima and his past relationship with Nintendo. Thank you for paving the way Mr Kojima. But are video games not made for the fans? This is what the fans want. Even if Mr. Igarashi lacks a personal relationship with Nintendo authorities, this proposed inclusion should be for the fans.
This petition is meant as an informational document. The purpose of its existence is to find out exactly how many Castlevania fans are out there in the online community, that are willing to take a moment to speak up. The result would be a minimum fanbase statistic. Please do not try to vote twice. If Nintendo and Konami were to stumble upon this, hopefully a substantial amount of support for the idea would hint increased profitability for the two companies.
