Due to the tremendous number of issues that iPod and iTunes owners are experiencing as a result of the release of iTunes version 7 the week of September 11, 2006, this petition calls for Apple to cease and desist from downloading further copies of this upgrade until appropriate quality control measures have been taken to address the many issues at the discussions.apple.com website pertaining to iTunes version 7.
Apple Computer should address all issues and be held accountable to owners of software and music who have lost time and music as a result of this upgrade. Many iPod/iTunes owners may not even know how they have been afflicted.
Given that the iPod/iTunes owners who use the discussions.apple.com are most likely more proficient users, it should be assumed that the less proficient users are helpless.
A government regulatory body should review the new version of iTunes before it is re-released to the public. Apple Computer should be required to publish instructions to all users explaining how to de-install iTunes v. 7 and how to seek reimbursement for music and time lost.
