College Football Halftime Shows

We, the undersigned, request that marching bands be returned as the primary halftime entertainment in college football exhibitions. In recent years, the halftime periods of regular- and post- season games have been marred with talking heads and lackluster substitutes for entertainment. Television networks have regularly filled time with unnecessary banter from broadcast teams and a slew of commercials.
One recent reminder of a poor choice of halftime diversion was the Orange Bowl Halftime Show of January 4, 2005. The bands from both Oklahoma and University of Southern California would have made a much better show than the amalgamation of such mid-class performers that was offered.
Being a former band member, I know the hard work and sacrifice that band members make to put on a good show. The band members take on as much, if not more, responsibility for entertaining the crowds as the football team and/or the cheerleaders.They should have a chance to exhibit their talents as much as the heavily-lauded athletes.

I agree. When BET shows football games they also show the halftime show. All the other channels should follow suit. GO FAU MARCHING OWLS!!!!
