Continuation of Breakwater Festival

We want our Breakwater Festival.
For 20+ years, a festival has taken place in the area known to some as "Pere Marquette", but to most as "The oval".
This area has a very rich history, which if not for the festivals, would have ceased years ago.
Drake Elliot park (forever to be "spider park") brings folks from all over the city because of it's facilities. The festivals here have contributed monetarily to this.
The City of Muskegon decided that the city is "too tired" at the end of summer to enjoy another festival in Muskegon.
As you may not know, the Breakwater Festival did not use any city services, no police were necessary, the festival took care of the park maintenance over the weekend, the festival totally cleaned the park after the event--picked up trash, emptied garbage recepticals, made sure bathrooms were cleaned, etc. The festival went out of our way to do whatever we could to save the city money. We left the park and area in as good or better shape than before the festival.
So, are we too tired to enjoy a festival that essentially isn't asking anything from the City, except for a good crowd?
Let's show them we're not "too tired", and ask, nay- demand, they listen when we say
"We want Breakwater Festival(the original Festival on the Shoreline) to continue!"
