David Lloyd Three Month Club

Giving three months notice for cancellation of a gym is tantamount to charging a leaving fee on top of a joining fee. This policy can do serious harm to people who find themselves in changing financial circumstances, who have done nothing wrong but join their local gym.
A gym should be concerned about its clients health both before and after their stay. David Lloyd seems only concerned in keeping its members, preventing its members from joining another gym, and punishing its members should their financial situation change.
To quote the David Lloyd corporate web page:
'[David Lloyd's] extensive range of facilities and expertise, ... support industry-leading rates of member retention.'
Not surprising really.
This three month cancellation policy is entirely against the interests of the members of David Lloyd gyms and in favour of the shareholders of David Lloyd and Whitbread.
We demand a change in this policy. There is no reason why David Lloyd Leisure should have a different cancellation term than any other gym.
