We the undersigned support the observance of April 1, 2010 as a Day of Protest against the education policy of the UPA government.

We oppose the implementation, on this day, of the Constitution (Eighty-Sixth Amendment) Act 2002, which has taken away the right to education of children aged 0 6 years and failed to extend it to children aged 14 18 years,

And of the farcical
Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009, which reverses the goal of a public funded, national system of education of equitable quality for all. It introduces discriminatory multi-track educational streams for the disadvantaged and the privileged, and in the name of public private partnership opens the door for the commercialization of education.
