We are a group of like minded individuals who are petitioning to have the Gilbert High School baseball field renamed in honor of Mr. Bob Everett, a retired teacher, coach and friend to many from Gilbert High School. Mr. Everett has not only impacted those he taught, but the community of Gilbert in general for his dedication to education and life. It does not matter if a person had Mr. Everett as a teacher or not, he was influential to thousands of students and other faculty members through out his long career with the Gilbert School District.
It is extremely disheartening to learn that GPS not only rejected the commemoration, but removed the dedication signage that had already been placed by the school.
We urge you, the Gilbert Public School Board to amend the policies that are preventing Mr. Everett from being honored by those he effected and allowing us, the alumni, the students and the community of Gilbert High School to rename the Gilbert High School baseball field in Mr. Bob Everett's honor.

Mr. Everett touched the lives of everyone he came in contact with! He made Gilbert High School what it was and is today. I really hope GPS will allow us to show some appreciation back to such a great man!
