DelDOT Plan for Fairfax

We the undersigned ask that the currently proposed traffic project for Foulk and Murphy Road be reconsidered. We feel the proposed addition of a median on Foulk Road preventing left turns into the community would have several detrimental effects, including (but not limited to):

* Preventing easy access to Concord Presbyterian Church (and the associated daycare facility)

* Increased traffic on Thomas Road and through the neighborhood of Deerhurst, leading to more dangerous living conditions for residents of those areas.

* Increased traffic for the intersection of Route 202 and Fairfax Boulevard, which is already a very dangerous intersection for motorists.

* Increased use of unsafe U turns at the intersection of Shipley and Foulk roads.

* Increase amount of traffic on Rt. 202, which is already a heavily congested area.

This, along with the other proposed changes, would result in a less safe traffic environment than currently exists. We feel the current project needs to be reexamined in its entirety, and in depth discussions with residents of all impacted communities be held so the concerns of all of those impacted can be heard and incorporated into any potential changes to the traffic patterns in the area.

50. Jen M | Address 212 Sandra Road The current traffic situation in this neighborhood is not safe: speeding, running stop signs. Adding more volume to our neighborhood roads is not a wise, or fair, idea.
