Demand for Release of Saleh Kohandel

About 6 months ago Saleh Kohandel was captured and jailed in notorius Evin prison in Tehran, Iran.
They have never explained anything about his charges to his family or his friends.
They arrested him without any reason. All his personal belongings like his computer, CDs and family photos have been seized by the government agents.
He was a taxi driver and worked very hard to earn a little money to support his family.
Now after his arrest his wife and two daughters Paria 9 and Zahra 12 are financially and psychologically in a critical condition.
It was Tuesday morning March, 16/2007 that he took his wife for shopping. Right after he dropped his wife off at Satarkhan Bridge in Tehran, intelligence ministry patrols blocked his way and started approaching him viciously. They immediately took him to his home and started to search his place extensively. It wasnвt clear that what they were looking for?!
Mrs. Aalam Madadzadeh, his wife indicates after a widespread inquiries she found out that her husband was taken to cell 209 of Evin prison which is under the direct control of the Ministry of Intelligence. After a long delay and with a lot of attempts she could finally manage to have a short meeting with her husband in prison. In this meeting Saleh told his wife about the baseless accusations that they are labeling him, even though he did not do anything against the law.
It was in the same meeting that his wife found out that due to unbearable situation of the prison her husband is suffering from heart disease as well as stomach problem and severe skin fungous.
At this point his file has been transfered to revelotionary court, divison 15 for prosecution.
We the undersigned urge the United Nations, Amnesty international and all other humanitarian organizations to condemn the treatment of Mr. Saleh Kohandel in Evin prison including physical and psychological torture and to request the immediate and unconditional release of him.
