River Road Creative, along with Friends of the Animals Baton Rouge, would like to petition that the city of Baton Rouge dedicate the Brec Burbank Dog Park as the Dick Russell Memorial Dog Park.
In January of 2011, world-renowned dog trainer, John Richard Dick Russell passed away after a nearly 7 year bout with cancer. In honor of his more than 30 year commitment to training people to train their dogs in our community, we propose that the city of Baton Rouge memorialize this dog park in his honor.

Shiloh , my third dog (and also a former resident of the EBR Animal Shelter)is the latest in the past 15 years to be trained with Dick Russell. He was known, not only in the Baton Rouge area, but nationally. A lot of his time was dedicated to saving dogs
