Dear Apple,
As owners of iphones and ipods we ask for choice in the software we use to manage these devices. We ask that Apple facilitates 3rd party software to sync music to apple devices.
Currently Apple artificially creates interoperability barriers between 3rd party software and Apple devices. The most recent example is popular applications such as MediaMonkey can not sync to an iphone due to restrictive and deliberate measures implemented in iphone os 3.0.
Without prejudice to itunes software we ask that you respect our right to choose. One size can never fit all and a user should be able to choose the software that is most adapted to his preferences and constraints.
It's beneficial to have diversity in software, it will allow Apple to see the part of the market that does not like to use itunes. It allows users who would otherwise be frustrated, to be happy and get full value from their device.
We ackowledge the achievement of itunes to enable many people organise large music collections. We ask thhat you accept the legitimacy of iphone & ipod customers for whom itunes is not well adapted. We ask that you facilitate compatiblity between Apple devices and 3rd party software.
