Extend "The West Wing" One More Season

Dear NBC Executive Production Committee,
I started this petition after watching your most recently broadcast episode of The West Wing. This was the 3rd to last episode broadcast on April 30th, 2006. After the conclusion of the show I turned to the other viewers and said, "This show actually gives me hope for our government". In the time we live in, with the most unpopular congress since the data has been collected; with the most unpopular vice-president since the data has been collected; with the 2nd or 3rd most unpopular (especially when polled about competence) president since the data has been collected; entertainment with this kind of hopeful message shouldn't be shelved.
I'm not sure if you've decided to cancel this show because of contract differences, the decision to move in another direction, or the saddening and untimely death of John Spencer; let me assure you that it should NOT be because of a perceived lack of interest in this television show. Myself, and the others who have decided to support this petition, ask you to reconsider extending this very entertaining, and perhaps, socially important programming for an additional season. Thank you very much for your consideration.
