Flyers Fans Want J.J.

To Philadelphia Flyers fans - past and present:
Winning the Stanley Cup 2 years in a row are the most memorable moments in this team's history. In those moments, nothing other than Gene Hart's voice could have expressed the elation that both the team and its fans were feeling. I was not born until 1979 so I wasn't around to hear it live, but the replays still give me goosebumps.
In 1993 Jim Jackson became the play-by-play broadcaster for the Flyers and the city has welcomed him into their homes each game ever since. For me and my generation, he is the only "Voice of the Flyers" that we know. Moving on to the Eastern Conference Finals was bittersweet for Flyers fans. Game 5 was the last game J.J. will call this season. The national networks will take over.
I do not want to take anything away from the broadcasters that work for NBC and Versus (and I don't want to get ahead of myself here), but I could think of nothing better for Flyers fans - young and old alike - to not only hear the words "the Flyers win the Stanley Cup!" but to hear them from 'our Voice' Jim Jackson. Hopefully with enough signatures, the other networks could pull up a chair for J.J.!
Thank you for taking the time to read and I hope sign. In the words of our beloved Gene Hart, "Good night and good hockey!"
