So the first thing you may ask me? What the heck is this?
To sum the first part up:
Eclub or at least the cabinet part of it has been anything but productive these days.
The majority of its cabinet members claim to be often shut out from what's going on in the internal affairs of the workings of Eclub. Some say that they're given attitude when they have offered to help or that they have been turned down. Many things have also happened without consultation of the whole cabinet.
Ive been the neutral guy for some time now, hearing both sides as it seems like they are not able to talk to each other. I'm sick of it and I'm sure many others would be too.
What Im afraid of for the future of eclub is that itll become a second quantum physics-like club. (or perhaps what is probably is right now). Most new members tend to flock after 2-3 meetings and the only people that end up staying are friends. A lot of those are friends of officers of the club. If those officers were goneIm pretty sure another 75\% of the club wouldve just gone down. (in another prospect...a club should NOT resort using officers to bait in their friends to keep a club going. It is no longer a club at that point.)
The future of the club is basically at stake. I believe even Environmental Club has been too niche of a topic for us to be able to expand in. Weve done practically less than 10 events this year and pretty much accomplished nothing. (One day, a yearbook staffer called me in about eclub and asked me all sorts of questions. It was all about what eclub was going to do and its prospective future. I couldnt say much other than the prospected tree planting that never happened (although I cant place the blame on the pres/co-VP while the administration struck it down).)
My belief of leadership is that you are able to do whatever it takes to work with the people you got no matter how stupid or smart they are or how beeshy they may be. Shutting people out and leaving your peers uninformed that are supposed to help you while doing everything yourself is anything but leadership.
EClub has led me to come to a conclusion (from these past couple of months) that what we currently have are leaders that cannot always work effectively with others, if at all.
The officers, as I see them now, are merely pawns used to attract a bigger member base and they probably will continue to be.

In this petition, I will be proposing for free elections for the officers of next year. It's time for the people to decide instead of having someone decide for them.
And if you were thinking...
Yes, I do wish to run to lead E-Club to a direction of a better and stronger future than it is now. Certain measures will be taken to ensure mistakes of the past will not happen again. I also wish to expand E-Club in a way that allows us, as a group, to be more involved in environments not limited to the oceans and mountains that shape Earth's beautiful landscape. Think about the environments of humanity.
In the local context of the club, there is much to be desired. Club members should be more informed and connected with each other since we are all in it to have fun too. In terms of leadership, an unique philosophy, "Lead to lead", shall be followed. It allows all members the opportunities to get involved and allows members to demonstrate leadership skills because leadership is not limited to committee members/officers. I also think that the productivity of meetings must be maximized and that a constant stream of events is required to keep the club filled with activity.
In addition...
No one usually mentions a topic along the lines of club spirit. Enthusiasm can often drive a club to degrees of success. It seems to be also something worthwhile to take an aim for.

The things outlined above describe my intentions for EClub in a general aspect. I entered EClub in the beginning of last year with high hopes and I still believe it has a great future ahead. I want to help shape that distant future and pass the club's success to generations beyond our own.
