Get Up, Stand Up! Sign the petition. Support the Strike: ENGLAND V SCOTLAND INTERNATIONAL - Wed 14th August 2013 Foreign Owners..? Foreign Players..? £3Bn TV contract..? A powerful response to the lack of leadership and disastrous football governance here at home would be to buy a ticket for the 150th year celebrations of the FA (Eng V Scot Wed 14th Aug 2013) and then instead of us all going into the ground let's instead organise a peaceful demo and protest outside Wembley. Those who cannot attend Wembley can share in this supporter show of strength locally. This would be supported and co-ordinated regionally so that everyone feels a sense of ownership, feels involved and feels a real sense of supporter power. I think an empty stadium for a marquee game would capture the interest of those who control TV rights and/ or are supposed to be looking after the game on our behalf. Are you up for this..? Are you ready..? Let's play! Football, like society, is changing.  A radio broadcast on the first w/end of the 2012-13 Premier League season (Game Changer – 20 years of the Permier League, Jim White, Radio 4), was instructive.  Jim White interviewed Richard Scudamore, Chief Executive of the Premier League, to get his view on how the Premier League is evolving.  Scudamore said, ‘The one thing we mustn’t do is do anything that dampens the international appeal of our league…ability to attract international talent’. It follows from this that Scudamore and the Premier League are primarily interested in growing their product and whatever the FA hope for St George’s Park will be of little relative importance.  Currently, the only growth available appears to be from abroad where allegedly fit and proper persons can bring in their $billions.  To further those aims, it must follow that The Premier League wants more and more overseas players because this would increase the global appeal of the Premier League.  Foreign Owners?  Foreign players?  What next?  Well…, let’s take this to the only logical conclusion.  I propose that we attempt to outsource the spectator element to the overseas fans, too. We need to help the FA and Premier League to unite for a common purpose (i.e. English football credibility).  This lack of credibility is affecting all home nation teams.  We should all be doing better than we currently are.  So any friends from Scotland who feel this issue resonates with their own FA and would like to join are welcome.
