It has come to the attention of many Georgia highschool bands that there has been a new "rule" added to the GHSA "Constitution". This rule (located at http://www.ghsa.net/files/documents/Constitution/Consti06-07AfterAug_Rev1.pdf, page 61, section G, number 1) specificly outlaws bands to preform our supportive music for the football team during the time when there are "live-ball" situations. This time is almost always less than 30 seconds and it is EXTREMELY hard to organize the band to play stands music in such a short notice. We have NEVER had such a restriction and we, the highschool bands of the state of Georgia, don't see how we can be any more of a disturbance than the "noise" made by loud, fanatic, fans. If we are to be restricted because we "disturb" the football teams then the crowd should be limited as well.
