Why is this illogical:
===============

Agreed, by "law" entry of non-Hindus in temples in Kerala is prohibited and Meera perhaps did "breach" a rule. But how logical is this law ? Consider these

1. Lot of not-famous non-Hindus enter temples in Kerala without anyone knowing. How come the temples do not get "impure" because of that? Did Meera commit a crime in being famous?

2. Temples elsewhere do not prohibit the entry of non-Hindus who have respect for Hinduism. Why have different rules for temples in Kerala?

3.Meera's own passion for Hinduism is well known- Jasmine Mary Joseph adopted a screen name of Meera, following her passion for the Hindu saint and Krishna devotee Meera . She has repeatedly stated her respect for Hinduism and temple rituals.

4. Hinduism has universal appeal. It is the only religion which is not exclusivitic and it accepts the divinity in every living being. Keeping this in mind, it is incorrect to deny entry to individuals who respect Hinduism (inspite of restrictions in their religion to worship "only a particular form of God").

5. To quote Swami Vivekananda "Expansion is Life, Contraction is death". Why denying individuals who are genuinely interested in Hinduism, a chance to explore? A true devotee should be welcomed to any temple.

What do we demand:
===========

1. All concerned parties who demanded an apology from Meera should apologize for their narrow-mindedness. Purification ceremonies should be cancelled and Meera's money should be returned or used for charity

2. At the earliest and through proper legal channels, the "no entry for non-Hindus" policy of the temples should be changed . If required, non-Hindus can sign a statement staing their respect for Hinduism and Hindu rituals.
