We, the undersigned, have been stunned and saddened by the loss of four brave firefighters in Atherstone-on-Stour on Friday 2 November 2007. We feel that some form of permanent monument should be placed in a prominent place in Stratford-upon-Avon, to serve as a continuous reminder of the bravery of these four stricken heroes and their colleagues.
Were aware of the monument in Central London, but Darren Yates-Badley, John Averis, Ashley Stephens and Ian Reid arent from Central London, they're from Warwickshire. We feel its only fair that they are adequately remembered amongst the community for whom they lived, and died.
Therefore, we would respectfully ask that Stratford-upon-Avon District Council considers commemorating their bravery and sacrifice in an appropriate way, so that their memories may live on amongst the community.
