HSBC: Stop Telling Us Its OK To Release Our Pets

HSBC created an advert last year for the UK showing a family moving, they released their snake into the back yard and when they got to their new home there was a lovely lizard waiting. HSBC is telling people if you move, just throw your pet outside. This is ILLEGAL in almost EVERY country. Further, when complaints were sent to the ASA and the channel it was shown on, both replied that there was NOTHING WRONG WITH THE ADVERT. Worse yet, this advertisement is now back on our screens!

We want the ASA and HSBC to stop condoning the idea of disposable pets and implying that it is perfectly fine to release an animal outside - most of these animals will DIE. The ones who don't will disrupt the native environment of the country and destroy the natural balance of the area.

It is animal abuse.
It is animal neglect.
It is illegal.

IT IS NOT OKAY.

Remove this advertisement, it is not acceptable. Trying to win customers by telling them to throw their pet away when they move is not acceptable.
