Ice Rinks Needed in Clarington

There has been such an increase in population in Clarington over the past 15 years.  There have been many children wanting to play sports at a comptetive level that are denied the opportunity simply because there isn't enough ice.  Even the children that have been playing at the houseleague level have been disgruntled because the schedules can give them as long as 2 weeks off without a practice or a game.

Figure skating, speed skating, boys house league hockey, girls house league hockey, boys rep hockey, girls rep hockey all require the use of the arenas and there are simply not enough ice pads to give the children and families in Clarington an opportunity to play and compete at appropriate levels. Clarington hockey families are giving surrounding communities tens of thousands of dollars annually to use their arena's, money that could be kept "at home".

Help us bring this problem to the attention of our local politicians by signing this petition and hopefully we can come together to make a change for the children and families in our community.
