I am willing to represent everyone on this site who got ripped because OM had none in stock ON opening day of the sale. Now, i am willing to take this all the way up to Corporate OM and I am wanting a PETITION that i can present to them, i will demand that they send us all $100 Coupons that we can apply to any external hard drives at OM.
False advertising, bait and switch is against the law, chapter 51-12 Class B misdemeanor .
I will claim they used False Advertisment, Bait and switch with 80 GB hard drives, And a very MISLEADING advertisment, where it never stated "limited", "Clearance Item" or something of that nature.
Office Max is well known for their deceptive practices.Take for instance the dvd deal 2 weeks ago.At noon on Monday the price was still showing wrong on the web page.I drove 10 miles to get the deal, had the list printed out with that price and they would not honor it.I was told they got an e-mail from the corp office at 12:30 not to honor it.It was 1:00.Sometimes one has to pay for mistakes.OM doesn't. Knowing the way they do business I would bet this was an intentional act of false and misleading advertising. Since I didn't call to find out if they had any in stock yesterday, I don't think I have much of a leg to stand on as far as proof. This below should jog some memories

COLUMBUS - Attorney General Jim Petro today filed suit against OfficeMax Inc. for allegedly failing to honor rebates and failing to provide rainchecks when sale items were not in stock.
Stores that use rebates and sales to lure in consumers must honor what they advertise, or they are in violation of Ohio consumer laws, said Petro.
Attorney General Petro has received more than 100 complaints in the past two years about OfficeMax. Additionally, the Better Business Bureau has a similar history with the company, which has led to OfficeMax receiving an unsatisfactory rating. OfficeMax often resolves the complaints when contacted by the Attorney Generals Office on behalf of consumers. However, OfficeMax has failed to properly address and remedy this continued pattern of deceptive and unfair business practices in Ohio.
The suit filed in Franklin County Common Pleas Court today asks that OfficeMax stop any further business practices that violate the Consumer Sales Practices Act; such as not honoring rebates, or providing rainchecks for customers who wanted to buy an advertised sale item no longer in stock.
The suit also asks that OfficeMax pay damages to consumers who have not received rebates or were unable to purchase goods at advertised prices.
Consumers can file a complaint with Attorney General Petros Consumer Protection Section online at www.ag.state.oh.us or by calling the toll free Consumer Protection Hotline at 1-800-282-0515.
