It is sad to see that U.S. diplomat Maureen Chao made an insulting remark on Tamilians in India.
The statement of regret issued by the consulate actually shows its heavy handedness. The consulate seems to believe that a mere "regret" is sufficient, and neither the consualte nor the diplomat needs to apologize. http://chennai.usconsulate.gov/chpr110813.html
We believe that such attitude is racist and is simplay rude. Ironically, it is 180 degrees opposite of what the U.S. claims to be it's values.
We urge the Department of State to match its written values with its actions and apologize to the Tamilians and to the citizens of India.
