" The accident happened on Sunday, August 10th, at approximately 7.10pm in the evening. I was in a tour van, on the way home to Singapore from Malacca.
A black car was seen swerving violently towards us from the right side of the van. The driver reacted, but at that sudden intrusion he couldn't avoid the car. It crashed towards the front right seat. Everyone screamed. Before we knew it, the van skidded, flipped sideways and headed right down the left slope, and into the drain.
In that instance i prayed hard, hoping everyone would be all right. It's nine human lives altogether. The orientation of the van was warped as i awaken from the slight trauma.
I called out loud, "Is everyone ok?!"
and checked the condition of my mum, she looked weak and was bleeding from her nose.
The driver, fortunately, was still alive and guided everyone to climb out from the window. Everyone suffered from arm and leg injuries, abrasions, scratches, etc. Some even had cut their arms because of the shattered glass. But there were no casualties.
We waited outside the van, like refugees. The driver called the police and the ambulance. However, the ambulance did not come at all.
My mother was still bleeding from her nose, and we had to apply first aid for her. We tried to stop her bleeding, and to keep her awake by talking to her.
Meanwhile, some aunties, who were still conscious enough, had confronted the driver of the black car, the one which collided into us. He looked pale, frail and he looked like he was drunk. He was a selfish bastard who only cared about the state of his own car after the crash. No one was hurt in his vehicle but ALL of us were hurt in ours.
He claimed that he was trying to overtake our van. Based on what i saw, he was in the fourth lane, while we were in the second, with reference to the tyre marks left behind on the road. There was no other car that was in the middle, he could have travelled further, gave a signal before trying to do that.
Conclusion: He was either drunk, ASLEEP, or he was just trying to kill us.
The infuriating thing was, the ambulance did not come even after we were stranded on the roadside for nearly two hours.
In the end, the driver had to call his relatives for help to send us all to the nearest hospital. Ironically, the nearest hospital was only about 1km away.
What could have happened to my mother, or any one of the people who suffered injuries during these two hours. "
