Justice 4 Stacey

On May 31st 1998 the life of 14 year old boy was taken and we feel that Justice has still not been served.

There was an 11 year old boy who was charged in this shooting and to this day he still denies doing it and has stated to others that he was not the one who shot and killed Larry Lee Stacey Hughes. There was no residue found on the boys hands or on Stacey's.

I have been helping Stacey's mother Cheryl for 2 years now, trying to get this case reopened and have Stacey's body exhumed for an Autopsy since one was never done. There were no bullet holes in Stacey's shirt, yet it has been said he was shot in the chest. It has also been said that he was shot in the back. Although the police have never told Cheryl about Stacey being shot in the back.

I seen the pictures that were taken and Stacey had bruises all over his arms and upper body like he was held down. No-one could have done that alone, we believe there was more than 1 person involved.

There is no reason why this case should not be reopened, unless there is something to hide. I have a copy of the letter that was written to Cheryl on February 21st 2003 from Shelby Lawson stating that the case will remain closed. It States "there is no further evidence that could be obtained by an exhumation of your son's body and this agency would not support such an endeavor."

We feel that he is wrong in stating this, and we are asking you to help us to get this case reopened, there are a lot of holes and unanswered questions in this case that need to be answered. It took 2 years for Cheryl to get Stacey's Death Certificate and no-one can tell her why.

So we are asking for your help in getting this case reopened and investigated into further so we can have closure.
