Keep Latin Teachers in Plano ISD

Recently, many students have been given word that numerous Latin teachers at Plano ISD are to be laid off by the end of the school year. The problem this illustrates is that Latin is a language that is the base of many of the world's most spoken languages (Spanish, Italian, French and other Romance Languages). Latin also forms the base of numerous medical terms which exemplifies it's importance in modern life. To remove the teachers and forcing students to take an alternative class ruins the chance for them to achieve a hands on approach of learning the language. The Latin teachers of Plano ISD do not deserve to be removed from teaching such a useful tool for students. We believe that the teachers make a huge difference for students by creating a welcome environment to learn such a useful language.
