Throughout the years, Many people have crossed different breeds in with ours in order to "modify" the breed to their liking. We as responsible owners/lovers/breeders have always been enraged as this does nothing but dillute the the PURITY and INTEGRITY of our bloodlines.
There is now a new problem which deserves, and REQUIRES our immediate attention. Our breed is curently being infliltrated by the blood of other breeds in order to get the newest coat color, Merle. This color does not, and has never existed in the APBT breed, however, this color is reared its ugly head in the yards of BYBs. They are having these dogs registered through other registries and then obtaining UKC registrations. The current breed standard allows for any color, color pattern or combination of colors, which is therefor ALLOWING the registration of these colors which are in no way PURE BRED APBT's. Please help to keep our breed PURE. Sign this petition requesting an amendment to the breed standard making the Merle coat color a disqualifying fault.

Since it is a physical impossibility to produce the merle color pattern in our breed, I believe that the applications to register merle colored dogs should be denied and the registration of any APBT having a merle colored ancestor in their pedigree should
