Patrick Hughes, honors college counselor for the Miami-Dade College Kendall Campus has recently announced that his position as counselor will only last till the end of the Spring Semester. He was recently told that he will be fired for a reason that is now unknown. Patrick Hughes has inspired and guided many honors college students to work hard so that they can achieve their lifetime goals. This termination is not only a tragedy, but extremely unnecessary. Removing Mr. Hughes would only hinder the learning experience at the Kendall Honors College rather than help it. Its a fact that Mr. Hughes has done everything in his power to make the Kendall Honors College the best it can be, and for this, he should not be fired.

Though I do not know of Mr. Hughes's exploits personally, what I have heard from many Kendall Campus students has led me to believe he is a remarkable man and a good director. I do not believe that his position should be threatened without due cause.
