QEII Park Recreation and Sport Centre is New Zealand's largest multi-sport and leisure complex.
Built specifically for the 1974 Commonwealth Games, QEII Park is a sporting icon for Christchurch and New Zealand. Today, the facility is closed due to the Christchurch Earthquake on the 22nd Feb 2011. QEII once catered for our families, our community and for our elite sport people. The purpose of this page is to rally support for QEII to be rebuilt on its current site (land permitting)- not moved to the West or Central Christchurch. This would leave a hole in OUR community, where would OUR children swim? How far would we have to go to have OUR kids in a swim program? Please share your love for QEII on this page and pledge your support for rebuilding this first class facility in the EAST - "we aren't totally munted!"
