Legalize the Herb In India

1) It's illogical for cannabis to be illegal when a more dangerous and damaging drug (alcohol) remains legal.

2) Legally sold cannabis could be taxed, earning the government extra revenue, which could be spent on any number of worthwhile causes.

3) Cannabis has useful medicinal applications.

4) The rate of violent crime would almost certainly drop, as a high proportion of violent crimes are alcohol-related, and many of those alcohol related crimes wouldn't happen if cannabis was the drug of choice (since it doesn't make people aggressive, it chills them out).

5) Many people are prohibited from a beneficial medicine; doctors cannot prescribe cannabis.

6) People requiring some sort of relaxing intoxicant legally can only choose alcohol.

7) It can be used for many illness like Nausea, Vomitting, Anorexia, Cachexia, Spasticity, Movement Disorder's, Pain, glaucoma, Epilepsy, Asthma, Sleep disorders, Anxiety disorders, Bipolar disorders, Dysthymia, Aid's, Cancer and Hepatitis C.

8) A February 2011 World Health Organization report concluded that alcohol consumption is responsible for a staggering four percent of all deaths worldwide, more than AIDS, tuberculosis or violence. No similar statistics were compiled by the agency for cannabis.

9) New research shows there seems to be something in pot that actually undermines cancer, instead of causing it – and the media are doing their best to ignore it.

10) Alcoholism is an international problem, and withdrawal can lead to death or permanent brain damage. Cannabis addiction exists, but it is less harmful and generally less severe than addiction to other substances.
