We the undersigned call on Glasgow City Council to take action regarding the dangerous and derelict building at 272 – 274 Saracen Street, Possilpark, Glasgow, G22 5LF. This building is in a most dangerous state of disrepair: * the building gable end has cracked from ground level to roof level at front and rear of building * posing risk to general public and nursery chidlren and staff * the building has no windows front or rear, allowing birds and vermin to nest and fowl all around the building * the gutters and down rain water pipes are non existent causing damp to penetrate the Jack & Jill Nursery * the back court is overgrown and used for flytipping * the building is an eyesore and a disgrace to the City of Glasgow * the building is causing the nursery to lose business customers and threatening our business; if we close the community will lose a valuable resource, parents and children will lose a high quality childcare, staff will lose jobs * the building is a blight on the community, a flag of deprivation and depression This can no longer be ignored, action must be taken now!
