LiveJournal.com states that adding a user to your friends with is in no way against their Terms of Service.
Friend, similar to friendship is a bond between TWO people in which they feel comfortable around one another. How is this possible when LiveJournal.com in no way keeps you protected from unwanted journal readers?
It is true that people can choose your friends, but you can also deny them. One possible solution to Friend-Choosing on LiveJournal.com is to create an "Approve/Reject" option sent via email, or on an LJ.com subsection to their "Friends..." category. This will not only keep unwanted people away, but will keep us free from ANY AFFILIATION of people we do not know.
Please keep in mind that this petition is in NO WAY against LiveJournal.com. Their staff is great, service and technology is excellent, we just want to feel safe!
