Media Usage Rights

this is a statement of protest by ordinary general public consumers, against the profiteering corporate bodies who are at this very moment plotting new ways in which to use Anti Piracy propaganda to inhibit our rights as consumers to use purchased media as we see fit, forcing the consumer through the application of Digital Rights Managment to purchase seperate licenses for every media device that we own.
these companies envisage a world where the cost of supply is minimal due to little or no physical product the media being sold by download and the cost of purchase is high due to the consumer having to pay for the right to transfer media from one device to another.
Imagine paying to download an album to your P.C. only to find you have to pay again in order to transfer it to CD or MP3 player.
these companies are using the big stick of copyright theft in order to push through these changes in full knowledge that media piracy or the lack of has little affect on company profits.

I ask that you sign this petition in an attempt to send these media giants a large and certain message that the public can see through these tactics and that we will not be ripped off in the name of anti piracy.

Whilst we don't condone outright piracy we do support the right to try before you buy and encourage all to support our great artists.
