We, the fans of the Mid-American Conference (MAC), are outraged at the handling of the finish of the Mens Basketball Tournament Championship game. In what could have been a fantastic finish for the entire country to see, the referees and conferences handling of the final 6.6 seconds has turned the MAC into the laughingstock of the college basketball nation. We, as fans, expect more from conference that we love. By supporting the decisions of the referees on the court, MAC Commissioner Rick Chryst & MAC Head of Officials Sam Lickliter have shown that they are content with the standard of officiating in the MAC and content with the perception that the actions of these referees place on the Mid-American Conference. Therefore, we ask that Rick Chryst, Commissioner of the Mid-American Conference, and Sam Lickliter, MAC Head of Officials, step down from their respective posts.
