This petition is for Mixed Martial Arts to be legalized in the state of Maryland. Mixed Martial Arts has gotten a bad reputation because of how it was portrayed back in 1993 when the first Ultimate Fighting Championship had occurred. Now in Nevada, Florida, New Jersey, Connecticut and Colorado is the only some of the places where Mixed Martial Arts have been regulated by there commissions. From the 1993 to 2003 Mixed Martial Arts has taken a huge step from the unsanctioned carnage that is was back in 1993. Now they have rules, Having gloves is now a must in any MMA competition. No strikes are allowed to the spine and the back of the head. Also there is no kicking a downed opponent. Weight classes have also been added, Lightweight, (145 to 155LBS.) Welterweight, (155 to 170 LBS.) Middleweight, (170 to 185 LBS.) Light Heavyweight (185 to 205 LBS.) And Heavyweight (205 to 265 LBS.). This sport has come from a lot from when it was debuted to the U.S.A. in 1993. Please just like Mr. Ken Pishna says, Support the Sport and let MMA come to the capital.
