We, the citizens of Kingston, petition the city to foster and promote the creation of more community gardens.
Community gardens improve our quality of life by beautifying neighbourhoods, building urban food security, encouraging social interaction, reducing greenhouse gasses through an increased consumption of local foods, creating opportunities for recreation and education, encouraging physical activity, maintaining safe public access to parks and other city spaces, and by providing a means for neighbourhood and community development.
