Move the CFL Goalpost

Mr. Commissioner,

As it stands now, the goalpost set up in the CFL does not make sense and is dangerous to the players.

The goalpost set up is a safety hazard to the players who play around it. The reason that the NFL moved the goalpost to the back of the goal line was to prevent injuries from occurring and players from getting racked up around the post. These incidents appear to be common occurrences in the CFL.

It is also too easy for a kicker to score a field goal and if that kicker misses the post, everyone wonders how he could have missed it. Even though he may get a single, it still makes no sense. Such criticism has turned potential fans in Canada and aboard away from the Canadian style of gridiron football.

Therefore, I (the undersigned), request that you move the goalpost to the back of the goal line. It would eliminate the safety risk to players. This would make it harder for a kicker to score a field goal, thus making his position a more important one. In Addison, it would make the Single rule make sense because the ball either clearly goes out of bounds in the in zone or lands in it to be caught or picked up by the opposing player as he attempts to run the ball out of the in zone. Such plays are an exciting part of CFL and would occur more frequently with this goal post setup. Thus, this would create more CFL fans across Canada and the World.
