MPUSD- Save the Music

Petition for Equal Access to Music Education in MPUSD

Be it resolved that we, the undersigned agree that all students enrolled and attending a school in the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District have a right to music education during the school day. We believe that music and other arts should be a part of every child's core curriculum. We believe that qualified teachers and sequential curricula be recognized as the basis for providing all students with substantive education in music and other arts.

Be it therefore resolved that the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, also known as No Child Left Behind, not only identify music as a core subject, but also recognize music education as a mandatory component of every public education curriculum in the United States of America.

We, the undersigned agree that under no circumstances should any music programs be cut from MPUSD schools.
