No Gas Station at Smith's Food Store

Dear Smith's,
In an effort to maintain good corporate neighbor status with the residents of Taos County, we the undersigned ask Smith's Food & Drug Centers, Inc. to NOT place a gas station and convenience store kiosk next to their grocery store at: 224 Paseo del Pueblo Sur in Taos, NM.
We ask that you respect the wishes of these residents of Taos and the surrounding area, and honor the professional judgment of the Taos Planning and Zoning Committee, whom have already denied your request based on the following grounds: the location you seek for your service station is potentially detrimental to the environment due to the proximity of the aquifer, is at odds with any future progressive development for the immediate area surrounding our historic district, and can only serve to increase the traffic congestion and confusion upon an already overburdened road and intersection.
In order to further encourage you to make the right decision; we do hereby vow a BOYCOTT of Smith's in Taos, NM, on every Wednesday of every week unless and until Smith's agrees to forgo such construction. We would instead advise you to locate the gas station in a more suitable area, or to spend the monies allocated for such construction upon better marketing campaigns; by offering such incentives as a wider selection of healthy, organic foods, more opportunities for locally-produced food stuffs, and even lower prices!
