We, the loyal fans of the NFL, are tired of the terrible and downright annoying commentary of Bryant Gumbel on NFL Network game telecasts. Gumbel's history within the news reporting community has followed him straight into the broadcast booth, where he has made a number of off-color and controversial statements to go along with his frequent blunders and failed attempts at humor.
Gumbel is also oblivious to real time in-game situations. His calls are wrong more often than not, and habitually mispronounces player's names... or even worse calls them by the wrong name (i.e. Frank Gore = Al Gore; Tony Romo = Rick Romo).
Being the avid footballs we are, we pay an additional premium on top of our regular cable or satellite bills to subscribe to the NFL Network and watch these games. The very least the NFL and NFL Network can do to please their PAYING CUSTOMERS is provide us with adequate play-by-play coverage by a knowledgeable telecaster.
We are asking for the immediate dismissal of Bryant Gumbel and that a suitable replacement be found as soon as possible. There are plenty of potential candidates already working at NFL Network who would do a wonderful job in the booth. (i.e. Rich Eisen)
