We, the people of County Wexford, oppose the introduction of water charges and declare such charges to be another form of regressive taxation.
Instead, we ask that the Irish tax system be reformed allowing those who can afford to pay more to do so. We also demand that the unjust practice of tax breaks for the wealthy be abolished immediately.
We say that there is a better way, and that imposing water charges on those who have already taken the brunt of the austerity measures not only makes no sense but also constitutes a breach of the governments mandate.
