At a seminar about safety on campus on January 24, 2011, Const. Michael Sanguinetti gave the following advice: "One of the safety tips was for women not to dress like sluts. We, as York university Students are not willing to accept either this blatant disinterest in our safety on the part of the Toronto police or the apparent misogyny with which it operates.
We, the undersigned, demand that the Toronto Police implement mandatory anti-oppression training (special respect to gender violence and sexual safety) for all present and future members of the force.
