Norfolk Broads Petition

Without major corrective action, the Norfolk Broads will be lost within a generation. The Broads Authority, despite their statutory duties has failed to adequately and maintain dredge these waterways. This isnt just about leisure time boating, fishing or natural history, this is an issue of major significance to the local economy. The Broads support a tourism industry estimated at 146m at last count and a boat building industry of similar size. This is about jobs, people and votes.

I submitted a formal complaint to the Broads Authority on 18th October 2006. You probably arrived at this petition from www.speakerscorner.com where it is reproduced in full.

The Chief Executive of the Broads Authority has described those who dare complain as a troublesome minority. This is simply not true and we need to be able to show the depth of our support. Id be delighted if you feel able to lend your support to this petition every additional name helps. This petition permits you to chose precisely how much of your contact information you make available over the Internet.

When completed, this petition will be sent to the DEFRA minister, Barry Gardiner MP.

Jamie Campbell. Gorleston on sea.
