This is a petition against Premier Wynne on the elimination of the ODSP

It has come to my knowledge that Premier Wynne has decided to eliminate the ODSP program. People in Canada have many disabilities and are unable to work and this program is a stable financial income for them. Further ODSP is the main income for Canadian citizens that have disabilities.

I myself was able to work, until the begining of this year when i was a victim of a crime that left me with severe head trauma from which i have still not recovered. The trauma to my head led to my very first seizure in 37 years resulting in my licence being revoked. Not only has my injuries left me unable to work, but also has left me unable to travel to and from work and during work as i was a mail carrier for 12 years.

The government has already deducted monies from the Ontario works (welfare) income from recipients, to which now a single person on welfare only receives $626.00 per month and a drug card. The avarage rent for a one bedroom apartment is $700.00. Welfare recipeints do not even have enough to fully pay thier rent nor do they have enough for food or personal hygene products. Further Welfare is a program that is meant for those who are able to work as a temporary income only, but also it is known that the majority of the recipients refuse to work.Welfare is only to be a temperary fix when it is needed.

ODSP is a program that is to assist with those who have a disability and are incapable to work. The recipients of ODSP have been medically diagnosed as no longer being capable of working. This is not by their own choosing but by medical issues beyond their control. To eliminate what little money they receive  in my opinion would not only be morally wrong, but also an attack on their rights to have a certain quality of life as a Canadian citizen.

This is virtually another example of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer!

The Cancellation of ODSP and the deduction of welfare equals death to the poor as there is no means for these recipients live.
