This petition is to tell Congress that no longer will they be able to vote on their own pay raises. Since members of Congress are elected by the American people to speak for them in government, this petition states that henceforth every two years during the Congressonal elections, a pay-raise initiative will be attached to the ballot which will serve as an evaluation of the Congress' overall representation of the people. If the people believe that the performance of Congress warrants a pay raise, they have the option to vote one in. If not they do not have to give a raise to employees for poor performance. This petition calls for these conditions to begin immediately, or at the soonest feasible time.

22. Laura Crichton | I propose to go one step further, and propose that congress can only earn 3 times the minimum wage. Currently that would be around 32k. Perhaps we could give them some incentive and only pay them the AVERAGE wage of ALL workers in the state they represe

12. Warren J. Williamson | This is a disgrace. There is no justice and we want accountablity for a change. We will decide who and when they get a raise. You are elected officials who are doing a marginal job and most of you deserve a layoff notice not a raise. The people want t

7. Herb Rosenblum (HerbR) | A legislators performance record should be evaulated to determine if he merits a raise. Raises will not be granted to the entire Senate or House at one time. Constituents will be the people who decide if the raise is warranted.

6. Richard Dillon | If Congress can't vote millions of people in poverty a pay raise, they have no right voting on their own salaries. They are employees of the American people, with salaries paid for by the American people, and should be evaluated by them.
