PETITION IN SUPPORT OF THE RIGLER ANNEXATION


Where as the Rigler Property is shown for annexation on the Town Master Plan,

Where as Dr. Emmett Full owns the Rigler Property,

Where as Dr. Full has asked that the Rigler Property be annexed with R1 zoning,

Where as Dr. Full has offered to work with the Town to see if a neighborhood sensitive, community recreation center is possible on the Rigler Property, and if not there, then somewhere else in town,

Where as Dr. Full has also asked that the matter of a rec center be put on the May 2010 ballot for the voters to decide if a rec center on the Rigler Property is appropriate,

Where as traffic reports and specific site designs of a rec center proposal must first be submitted, reviewed, and approved by the Towns Board of Zoning Appeals and then by the Planning Commission, before a rec center can be built,


I, therefore, the undersigned ask that the Mayor and Town Council grant Dr. Fulls request by annexing the Rigler Property into the Town of Mount Airy.
