Pit Bull Advoctes

I am here to give a voice to a misunderstood breed. I realize the stigma attached to this particular 'bully breed' but as an animal lover, I feel that the sceintific evidence and first hand experience will make it easier for people to make a choice when it comes to Breed Specific Legislation.

Every domestic animal deserves a chance to be loved, and I intend to prove that the 'BSL' advocates have no right to decide what is right for the general public. If they get their way, Pit Bulls will be put on the extinction list, not because they don't have compelling statistics, but because it is easier to to rule with fear.

I do not deny the statistics when is comes to Pit Bull realted deaths, I realize these numbers are terrifying, and when you attach a young child to this number it's even harder to deny that this breed is dangerous. The fact is that this tactic has been used to manipulate people for years, these dogs are no different than German Shepards, Cane Corso's, Staff Terriors, and Labrrador Ratriever's (just to name a few).

Sadly since the domestication of the wild dog, there has been startling statistics of them attacking us and the things we hold dear. These breed's and thousands of others were made by us, bred to hunt, kill, and provide entertainment. Here we are hundreds of years later, they can, and have proven to be a completly trustworthy addition to any loving family. I intend to complie scientific evidence from people in the field of Veterinary Study, also people who have had first hand experience training and caring for this breed, to prove that 'BSL' is not the right couse of action for Kelowna, British Columbia. Or any other animal right concious location in Canada.

I am open to opposing views, and intend to see and use critisism as another method to study how this particular issue effects individuals in my communtity. I in no way want to affend anyone with my point of view, All I know is these animals can't speak for them selves, I intend to give them an educated voice. One that people can understand, one that isn't influenced by fear. After all, they are just a dog. They start out the same way we do. Just something that needs direction and love.
