Please Let the Bid For Power Team Continue Their Work

Dear Sirs and Madams at Funimation and Infogrames,
It has come to the attention of the DragonBall Z community, that you have decided to shut down a popular Quake 3 total conversion named Bid For Power. It is believed that this decision was made because the people at Funimation and Infogrames feel that the creators of Bid For Power have violated copyright laws by making this game and will also take money away from the upcoming DragonBall Z games being made by Infogrames. But we the fans feel almost outraged about this decision and wish that you will reconsider your choice of stopping the making of this very popular total conversion.
We enjoy the ways Funimation is improving upon DragonBall and DragonBall Z, especially with the new subtitled DVDs that are being sold. We also like the work Infogrames does in the gaming industry. But when we heard that Funimation and Infogrames were going to shut down such an incredible independently made total conversion, we were shocked. It was like the two companies had betrayed us.
The Bid For Power team has been in production of this game for more than a year and a half, working very hard to get every aspect of the game to near perfection. They have had to overcome many obstacles to get where they are now and we do not want all their hard work to go to a complete waste. Not only by making this mod have they greatly increased a large amount of peoples interest with DragonBall Z, but through the Bid For Power forums, they have increased peoples interest with anime in general. Including the two series that Funimation is currently in production with, Blue Gender and YuYuhakusho.
As fans, we also think that it is not necessarily violating any copyright laws since the Bid For Power team is not making money in anyway. They are just showing their support for a truly spectacular series. Plus, at the time Bid For Power was starting up, Funimation did not have plans or deals with any company involving the making of a video game. We feel it is somewhat unfair of you to shut Bid For Power down now.
To summarize things up, we, the DragonBall Z and Bid For Power fans hope you will listen to this petition and respect what the people wish for.
