Protest against the AMS Arcade's Closure

To the AMS Student Council:
For many, the AMS SUB Arcade is the only place on campus where rest and relaxation can occur without being reminded of the rigours in their chosen fields. However, this became harder and harder in recent years due to rising prices. This trend has been allowed to happen by the AMS through the choosing of an exclusive supplier, well-known in the Lower Mainland for their greedy business practices. Despite this fact, UBC students return each day to find solace within the arcade.
On July the 27th, the AMS Student Council will be shutting the doors of the arcade for the final time, with the possibility of replacing it with an arcade-like service runned by the aforementioned supplier. This decision is both ignorant and insensitive to the thousands aforementioned loyal UBC students who play there each month.
If this student body truly represents the interests of UBC students, then:
- They will realise that this arcade is not only a source of student services funding, but also an extremely popular recreational service.
- They will not allow the arcade to close and be replaced by a greedy supplier set on taking the money of students.

My little brother loves the arcade and sometimes I take him to school to play there! Closing the arcade will make him really sad!! (I love the DDR in the arcade too!)
