To the House of Commons in Parliament Assembled,
In the midst of a continuing recession how can the federal government in good conscience continue to support programs that take jobs away from Canadians? We the undersigned would like all parties in the House of Commons to agree to discontinue the Temporary Foreign Workers Program and to continue to reject any future programs that are similar or have the same effect as the Temporary Foreign Workers Program.
This program suppresses wages for Canadians workers, denies jobs to young Canadians, stifles partnerships between business and post-secondary schools, and at the same time provides no incentive for businesses to invest in developing talent.
Worse, in the long run a reliance on foreign workers will be detrimental to both Canadian employees and Canadian employers.
